Humanitarian Award Development Scenario Planning
The Robert Burns Humanitarian award is currently presented on an annual basis as part of the Burns an’ a’ That! Festival Gala Concert. The award recognises the work of individuals worldwide who have put humanitarian concerns above all else. The long term aspiration is to develop the nominations and judging process to become more inclusive and nationally recognised. Additionally the Burns Festival Company sought to develop the awards ceremony into a standalone event (dinner, conference) held in Ayrshire during the Burns an’ a’ That! Festival generating international interest, participation and profile). A benchmarking exercise was performed along with a range of development options for the award.
