Largs Powerboats Championship – Event Evaluation

The Moffat Centre undertook an evaluation of the International Power Boat Championship off the coast of Largs, Ayrshire.

This incorporated:

  • Visitor Expenditure levels, type and amounts
  • Visitor Origins
  • Visitor Profile
  • Levels of total event attendance
    • Economic Impact evaluation via Street survey, stake holder interview and industry survey
    • Value of Public and Private investment
    • Analysis of Sponsorship
    • Review of Marketing and sales

A review was put forward suggesting that the event should not continue due to low levels of economic impact.
