Burns an’ a’ that! Festival Impact Assessment

The Moffat Centre has been commissioned over 4 years to provide a suitable and robust methodology for the evaluation of the economic impact of the Burns An’ A’ That! Festival.

Key areas of appraisal include:

  • Visitor Expenditure levels, type and amounts
  • Visitor Origins
  • Visitor Profile
  • Levels of total event attendance
  • Economic Impact evaluation via Street survey, stake holder interview and industry survey
    • Value of Public and Private investment
    • Analysis of Sponsorship
    • Review of Marketing and sales
    • Qualitative impact (e.g. growth in civic pride, human capital etc)

The quality of findings has been used by the Scottish Executive and Parliament as a primary indicator of the value of Burns and has led the Moffat Centre to be appointed to provide the master-plan and economic impact survey for the proposed Burns 2009 Centenary.
