Review of the Leading 12 National Trust for Scotland Visitor Attractions & Assessment of Performance of Key Competitors

This project was undertaken in order to provide realistic business development scenarios for 12 leading heritage properties. Comparative analysis of competitors was conducted on leading UK attractions to provide systematic targets that were measurable in terms of revenue, profitability, quality and service amongst others. Strategic development and Operational development Plans were provided for each of the properties during the period 2002-05 as part of an enterprise and marketing plan aimed at increasing commercial income from NTS properties.

  • Exhibitions and Space rental
  • Training and Sales Development
  • Self Catering Accommodation Sales
  • Garden and Plant Sales Development
  • Detailed benchmark comparisons with Chatsworth House and Gardens (Derbyshire), Harewood House (nr Leeds) and a range of English National Trust Properties
