Malcolm Hart
THE boss of one of the world’s longest serving regional airlines has returned to Glasgow Caledonian University to deliver a speech on the future of the aviation industry.
Malcolm Hart, chief executive of the Guernsey-based Aurigny Airlines, spoke to students about the challenges of building and developing an airline in the current economic climate.
Aurigny employs around 290 staff throughout the Channel Islands, UK and France, and is based near Guernsey Airport.
The key note speech was the highlight of this year’s Moffat Lecture and Awards.
Malcolm is a GCU graduate after completing a BA in Business Studies.
The airline was formed in 1968 and takes its name from the Norman for Alderney, the northern Channel Isle, where the company was launched.
As well as providing a network of scheduled services between Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney, the carrier also flies to destinations in the UK and Continental Europe.
